4:15 - The first 10 people who leave a rating & review on iTunes should send me an email (Todd@TheAntidoteToLiberalism.com) and I will send you a FREE copy of One Nation Under God. It's that simple.

5:07 - John Boehner resigns as Speaker of the US House of Representatives. This is good news. Read more.
7:05 - A brief synopsis of Congress & how it chooses it's Speaker.
8:24 - Senators were once elected by State Legislatures. Read more.
8:58 - Current Senate Majority Leader is Mitch McConnell (R-KY). There are calls by some for McConnell to step-aside as leader, too.
9:20 - McConnell & Boehner have both caused Conservatives problems.
9:50 - President of the Senate is Vice President of the United States, which (of course) is currently Joe Biden.
10:16 - Senators are elected to 6-year tems, and 1/3 of them are up for election every 2 years. All 435 Members of the House of Representatives are up for election every 2 years.
11:20 - The House of Representatives differs from the Senate.
11:53 - Want to find your Congressman? Click here to search by zip code.
14:18 - Each State's number of US Representatives (Congressmen) are calculated every 10 years when US Census is taken. There will be 435 Representatives divided proportionally amongst the 50 States.
16:18 - Once we elect our Congressmen, they choose for themselves a Speaker of the House. Here's how Heritage explains the process.
19:01 - A new Speaker has to be elected after Boehner officially resigns (October 30) but before any new business is conducted.
19:26 - Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is in a good position to become Speaker of the House. He is currently House Majority Leader.
19:38 - The primary leadership positions in the House of Representatives are: Speaker of the House; House Majority Leader; House Majority Whip; and Conference Chair.
20:40 - Take a look at how Heritage rates the Members of the House of Representatives.
21:30 - Kevin McCarthy scores a 63% with Heritage. The average House Member score is 68%. By contrast, Jim Jordan scores a 96%.
22:30 - At least part of the pressure applied to John Boehner to resign was applied by the conservative House Freedom Caucus. They planned to move to "vacate the Speaker" seat sometime in the not-too-distant future. Read more.
25:05 - It wouldn't be a bad idea to call your Congressman & let them know you want a Conservative Speaker of the House.
26:06 - I receive emails from Barack Obama, Organizing for America, Lefitst groups, et al.
26:37 - Check out our Facebook page to see this fantastic campaign by the Obama Administration.
28:10 - Email from Barack Obama. Check it out.
28:58 - The Government Shutdown is not a "shut down." It's a temporary suspension of non-essential services. This will cause an inconvenience to some folks, but its degree is overstated.
29:52 - Obama won't put scoring political points above doing the right thing? Is this guy serious?
30:00 - Just because Planned Parenthood is defunded, it doesn't mean that money is pulled from the budget and not used for women's health. That's preposterous. It will be given to other groups instead.
31:04 - Who is really the one promising to shut the government down?
32:07 - Obama says Republicans are going to hold the government hostage over defunding Planned Parenthood.
32:57 - Obama closes his email by telling us how much clearer it becomes every day that we should elect Democrats.
33:23 - Planned Parenthood should raise its own funds. We don't want to give you our tax dollars because we're completely appalled by what you do.
34:00 - There is not a sane person in this world who thinks what we've seen on the videos is ok. It's comparable to Nazi Germany.
34:37 - But Boehner & McConnell are going to fund Planned Parenthood. And they're going to kick the can down the road for a new Speaker to deal with.
35:21 - Wrap-up.
35:35 - I'm interested in hearing what you thought of today's show - which is a little different than normal. Email me: Todd@TheAntidoteToLiberalism.com
36:00 - Outro.
